A simple thesis: the best way to prove AI is for good is to use it for good - in public. Every idea we ship is built by a person and a machine working side by side - and we're careful about who does what. Once iterated, it's then handed to the people it serves. No hype, no black boxes - just useful tools you can inspect.

At Dot11 Media, every tool we ship is made by a person and a machine together. This is no longer an isolated phenomenon: researchers at Harvard and BCG studied professionals who now work this way, and identified two distinct working styles. Ethan Mollick named them Centaur and Cyborg. In December 2025, a second look at the same consultants' work surfaced a third.
Firstly, the Centaurs - they draw a clean line: the person decides what to do and stays on the hook for it, and the machine takes the parts that suit it. Then the Cyborgs, who work as one with the machine - draft, push back, try again, keep going. And third - spotted only when researchers went back over the same data - the Self-Automators: an entire group who hand the whole job over and pass on whatever comes back.
Dot11 Media focus upon the first two. Most days it's Cyborg. But when being wrong would be expensive and damaging, we slow down and work as Centaurs.
Some jobs are small, repetitive and the same every time. Once we've done one properly and know it works, we set it up to run on its own - our 5 Daily Cards project runs itself daily. We still look in on it, because a job that worked last month can quietly stop working. That's AI-led automation: the thinking happens first, then the handover. Self-Automating is handing over a job that still needs thinking, and passing on the answer without reading it. It's an easy habit to slip into, and it isn't laziness; the better the machine gets… the less reason you have to look.
So we work in the open. If people can see how a thing was made, we can't quietly stop making it properly.
